OSHKOSH - A step back in time in Oshkosh Sunday.History came alive at the Sunnyview Expo Center.People could meet civilians and soldiers alike representing time periods ranging from the mid 1700s through the Western Frontier. The "Echoes of the Past Historical Trade Fair" is of the largest trade fairs in the Midwest. The event features supplies for the historical re-enactor, such as clothing, books, firearms and more. The fair also offered demonstrations, music and a chance to share hobbies.Organizers say it's an educational event that goes well beyond a classroom setting."It can be a learning experience, but a lot of people, if they think of their high school or school days, history can be a very dry subject. But living history is a whole different story. So when they can see hands-on stuff going on here, it's a little bit different," said organizer Brian Bradley. This is the 33rd year for the event.
