GREEN BAY The Green Bay Southwest girls track and field team finished fifth in Tuesday's Fox River Classic Conference meet at Green Bay Preble with 46 points and the main reason was Natisha Hiedeman. The junior was one of the stars of the meet, competing in four events and winning two and placing second in two. Hiedeman won the long and high jumps and placed second in the triple jump and 100-meter hurdles.A good day for the Trojan, right?"I didn't do my best," she said. "I did pretty well in the long jump and high jump. My hurdle race, the prelims felt good."Hiedeman won the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 7 1/4 inches and the high jump with a height of 5-3. Her triple jump distance was 35-6 and her finals time in the hurdles was 15.49 seconds.FRCC Meet resultsHowever, in the preliminary Hiedeman posted an even faster time in the hurdles. She was the No. 1 seed with a time of 15.27 which was the winning time in the finals set by Bay Port's Jen Anderson. The time of 15.27 was also a meet record.Hiedeman competes in four events which can make for busy meets. Tuesday, she was all over the place, going from the high jump to the long jump to the hurdles."By the end of the met I'm pretty tired," she said. "It always seems like it lands on triple jump and I'm dead. You just have to work through it."Hiedeman is pointing to regionals and sectionals next week as she seeks a return to the state meet in La Crosse, where last year she competed in the high jump (fourth place) and long jump (12th place)."I have my own personal goals," Hiedeman said. "My goals I have should get me into sectionals and state."Tuesday's performance was a good sign for Hiedeman, who said this spring has been tough on her practicing four events. It's been tough to get outside."This year was the worst year ever," Hiedeman said. "Every meet was cold and rainy. This is our first good meet. It felt good so hopefully I can build off of it."Follow Doug Ritchay on Twitter @dougritchay
