Guinness Doughnut Holes with Irish Whiskey Caramel

      Guinness Doughnuts

      1 ½ Cup Flour
      1/3 Cup Sugar
      2 Teaspoons Baking powder
      ½ Teaspoon Salt
      ½ Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
      1 Egg
      3/8 Cup Whole Milk
      1/8 Cup Guinness Draught
      2 Tablespoons Melted Butter
      Oil for Deep Frying

      In a large bowl or stand mixer, add all dry ingredients (Flour, Sugar, Baking Powder, Salt, Nutmeg) and mix. In another bowl, mix all wet ingredients (Egg, Milk, Guinness, Butter). Slowly add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, until combined.

      Heat Oil to 375 degrees, Roll dough into balls, and drop into the oil (5-6 at a time). Fry until browned, approximately 1-2 minutes. From the oil, drop & roll in sugar. Drizzle or dip into the Irish Whiskey Caramel Sauce.

      Irish Whiskey Caramel


      1 Cup Sugar
      1/3 Cup Irish Whiskey
      4 Tablespoons Butter
      Salt to taste

      In a Saute Pan, add Sugar and cook over Medium Heat, until sugar is golden brown. Remove from heat, add Irish Whiskey (It will bubble vigorously). Once the mixture settles, return to Medium Heat and mix until smooth. Add Butter and combine.
