Tundra is a gray and white domestic longhair that appears to be between 4 and 6 years old, Press-Gazette Media reported.
He was found on a porch in the Luxemburg area last month, on a day when temperatures ranged from 4 degrees to minus 12. His paws and the tip of his ear were frostbitten.
Now veterinarians say he'll probably lose part of his tail, said Carol Longton, a Green Bay resident who's been helping take care of Tundra. Even so, she said he was expected to survive.
Staffers at the Bay East Animal Hospital in Bellevue have administered antibiotics that have helped Tundra's paws heal. However, he still walks as though he's in pain.
Tundra has also gained almost 1 ½ pounds to 8 pounds, putting him closer to his ideal weight of about 10 ½ pounds.
