Ingredients:3 peeled and chopped onions1 tablespoon olive oil1 can anchovie filets2 small cans tomato sauce1 10 1/2 ounce can tomato puree1 small can tomato paste + 1 can water1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon oregano1/2 teaspoon garlic powder1 teaspoon sugar2 loaves French bread - sliced horizontallyOlive oilBread crumbsGrated Parmesan CheeseDirections:Simmer onions in olive oil, add anchovies, stir until they melt. Add tomato sauce, tomato puree, tomato paste, water, salt, oregano, garlic powder and sugar. Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. Lay bread halves on cookie sheet, brush olive oil on bread and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Generously spread sauce over bread crumbs. Sprinkle top with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
