Four teams earn automatic NCAA tournament bids

DE PERE - The 5th ranked St. Norbert men's basketball team defeated Grinnell 99-86 to win the Midwest Conference tournament title. Brandon Gries scored a game high 23 for St. Norbert. Andrew Schwoerer scored 21 points off the bench. Austin Elliot added 18 points, Garrett Thorn had 13, and Kam Cerroni added 11 points. The win clinched the Green Knights fourth NCAA trip in five years.

The Green Knights women's team were also winners. They defeated Monmouth 69-60 in the Midwest Conference title game to earn the league's automatic bid. Freshman Brianna Byre scored 16 to lead St. Norbert. Jill Kleiman added 10 points. Heidi Van Sistine had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

OSHKOSH - The UW-Oshkosh women's basketball team is headed to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2000 after they defeated UW-Superior 75-69 in the finals of the WIAC tournament. It's the first tourney title for the Titans since 1999. Katelyn Kuehl had 18 points to lead UW-Oshkosh. Marissa Selner tallied 14 points, Sarah Stecker added 13 poitns and Morgan Koka had 10 points for the Titans. Kuehl also pulled down a game high 11 rebounds.

FOND DU LAC - The Marian men's basketball team also ended a lengthy NCAA drought. They defeated Edgewood 65-61 to earn their first trip to the NCAA tournament since 2001. Sophomore Drew Binversie led three Sabres in double figures with 18 points. Jeff Harris added 12 points, while Josh Creed chipped in 10. Justin Williams led Edgewood with 19 points off the bench.
