Fond du Lac firefighters rescue woman from house fire

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) - Firefighters in Fond du Lac had to battle extreme cold as they rescued a woman from a house fire.Crews were called to the fire around 8:30 a.m. Monday. Dispatchers alerted firefighters that a woman was trapped in the two-story house.Fire crews arrived on the scene within minutes and rescued the woman from a first-floor window. She was taken to a hospital.Frozen fire hydrants hampered firefighters. The American Red Cross was called into to help firefighters because of the cold.A total of 55 personnel from five fire departments were called to the scene.The cause of the fire has not been determined, but investigators believe it was electrical.
