The December 2012 crash happened in the town of Nekimi. Robert Zentner and his wife were traveling on County Hwy. I when William Doemel of Oshkosh crashed into their vehicle. Robert Zentner died as a result of his injuries; the other two were hospitalized with with non-life threatening injuries.
According to the criminal complaint, Doemel had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.285, more than three times the limit. His driver's license was also suspended at the time.
At a trial that concluded Tuesday, Doemel was convicted of eight counts, including homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, according to online court records. Sentencing is scheduled for April 10.
