HOBART - Crews battled a fire at an industrial site in Hobart for several hours Wednesday evening. There were no injuries, but nearby Highway 54/Mason St. was closed in both directions at Haven Place because of the fire. The property is the former site of One Source Recycling, which authorities say has been closed for years. The fire burned one building on the property."There has been nobody in the building," said Captain Troy Wood with the Hobart Fire Department. "They've been fighting it from the outside at this point, and that's why the backhoe extension opens it up so we can see what's in there."Fire officials say a passerby noticed smoke around 6:30 Wednesday evening.Firefighters from multiple departments were on scene including crews from; Hobart, Lawrence, Pulaski and Green Bay.There are no fire hydrants near the scene, so crews filled up trucks using water hydrants about a mile away.
