GREEN BAY - The Walnut St. bridge is getting some upgrades, with work scheduled to begin on Monday.

The state Department of Transportation plans to update the electrical control system and install video monitors. Gov. Scott Walker recently approved the $669,600 project.

Lunda Construction Co. of Black River Falls is the primary contractor.

Some lanes will be closed for short periods of time, the DOT says. Toward the end of the project, the bridge is expected to completely close for a week so crews can test the equipment. Dates of the closure will be announced when they are available.

The project is expected to be finished by November.
