MARINETTE - A Coast Guard crew helped rescue an injured man from a boat on Green Bay.

Around 8:45 a.m. Monday, Coast Guard officials say the Mobile Bay cutter was notified that there was an injured man on the Sikuliaq. The Sikuliaq is a 254-foot research boat. The cutter's crew was escorting the Sikuliaq through the ice at the time.

The cutter broke ice around the Sikuliaq before a boat crew was launched to tend to the man and take him 200 yards to the shore in Marinette.

The man was taken to the hospital. His name has not been released.
