2 cups sirloin steak

2 teaspoons olive oil

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cups sliced mushrooms

2 cloves chopped garlic

2 tablespoons flour

1 /2 teaspoon thyme

1 /4 teaspoon pepper

1 /4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 /4 teaspoon salt

2 cups beef broth

1 /2 cup red wine


Cut steak into thin strips about 1 1/2 inches long. Brown meat in olive oil until evenly browned. Add onions and garlic; cook 3-4 minutes on medium heat. Add mushrooms cooking until they are brown. Mix flour, thyme, pepper, nutmeg and salt. Sprinkle over meat, stirring well. Allow flour to toast in pan without burning, about 30-45 seconds. Stir in wine and beef broth until liquid comes to boil and thickens slightly. Reduce heat, cover loosely and simmer for 20-30 minutes. If sauce becomes to thick, add water or beef broth.

Garlic Buttered Noodles:

1 pound noodles

2-3 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Cook noodles according to package instructions. When done- drain. Stir in butter, garlic and salt. Stir in parsley just before serving.
