Anglers look ahead to spring at musky fishing show
By Laura Smith
NEW LONDON - Recent warm days haven't been enough to melt away the ice on area lakes and rivers. But that's not stopping some anglers from looking ahead. They headed to the 26th annual "Musky Magic Fishing Show" at New London Middle School Sunday. It's hosted by the Mosquito Hill Nature Center.People could check out and buy bait, gear and guide services.Organizers say it's something people look forward to, ahead of spring."They can come and get their favorite baits from their favorite vendors, so they're all set for when the water does, or when the ice does, go out on the river or on the Bay," said Mike Hibbard with Mosquito Hill. The show also featured a number of speakers.Guests could even watch demonstrations in the pool area, or test out the new tips they learned.
