Mays' big day leads Phoenix past Wright State

ASHWAUBENON - The Green Bay Phoenix defeated Wright State 62-55 on Saturday night at the Resch Center. Alec Brown returned to the lineup after missing the Valparaiso game with an injured shoulder. The senior center was just 2 of 10 from the field but did contribute 4 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

Greg Mays was able to fill the scoring void left by Brown though. The junior swingman made 9 of 10 shots and scored a game high 22 points including several dunks. Keifer Sykes added 18 points while grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists. Phoenix struggled from three point range in the game making just 3 of 18 they attempted.

Green Bay improves to 8-1 in Horizon League play and 18-4 overall this season. They move two full games ahead of Cleveland State in the league standings.
