GameTime Game of the Week
Luxemburg-Casco (2-0) at (4) West De Pere (2-0): The Spartans have opened the season with wins over Seymour (28-21) and Denmark (28-14), two teams that figure to make a run for the postseason. Now, they get West De Pere, a team that is thinking a deep run in the postseason. L-C has never beaten West De Pere and this is final meeting between the teams in Bay Conference play as next year L-C leaves the league in conference realignment. Will L-C finally bring down the Phantoms?
For What It’s Worth: L-C has scored 28 points in each of its first two games and West De Pere is averaging 52.2 points per game. L-C needs this game to stay in the 20s.
Prediction: West De Pere 35, Lux-Casco 7.
(3) Menasha (1-0) at Denmark (1-1): Bluejays have won easily the first two weeks, while Denmark is trying to bounce back after a loss to Lux-Casco.
FWIW: Bluejays have scored more than 40 points in each of its first two games.
(6) Xavier (2-0) at Little Chute (2-0): Early-season Eastern Valley showdown between rivals who won’t be in the same conference after this season.
FWIW: Xavier has scored 40 or more points in each game while Little Chute has allowed 12 total points.
Freedom (1-1) at (10) Waupaca (2-0): Freedom recorded an impressive 21-0 win at Winneconne last week, while the Comets have been rolling. This will be Waupaca’s first test and Freedom is no pushover.
FWIW: Freedom is playing its third road game in a row because it’s field is not ready. It’s used to the road so maybe a trip to Waupaca is no big deal.
Green Bay Southwest (1-1) at (2) Ashwaubenon (2-0): Southwest coming off a big win over Sheboygan North, but now has to figure a way to score against a defense that has allowed seven points over its last six quarters.
FWIW: This Ashwaubenon’s only home game through its first five weeks.
(5) Bay Port (2-0) at Pulaski (1-1): Pirates offense has been torrid to start season and that should continue.
De Pere (0-2) at Green Bay East (0-2): Redbirds lost quarterback Emmett Kulick for seaso but somehow figure out a way to get a win.
Southern Door (2-0) at Wrightstown (1-1): Big early-season O-P Large game and look for Tigers to hold off Eagles.
Roncalli (2-0) at Brillion (0-2): Jets flying high and that will continue.
Appleton East (0-2) at Kaukauna (0-2): East has not looked good early and Kaukauna has been competitive, so this one goes to the Ghosts.
Oshkosh West (1-1) at Neenah (2-0): Rockets off to a great start and that will continue.
Last week: 10-1.
