MENASHA – There will soon be a new place for kids to play in the Fox Valley.
A special groundbreaking ceremony took place for the new Boys & Girls Club of Menasha on Tuesday on the corner of 6th and Racine streets.
The new 33,000 square foot facility will be a place for students ages 6-18.
Some of the features include a 7,500 square foot teen center complete with full sized robotics laboratory. There will also be a dance studio, fitness center, performing arts center and more.
All of the money for the new facility came through donations.
Greg Lemke-Rochon of the Boys & Girls Club says, “As we sit here today, we have enough money to pay for the property to pay for the building, committed from our donors, now all we’re doing is raising the money, very important money, to operate the club on into the future.”
The new facility is expected to open June of 2015.
