GREEN BAY — The Green Bay Packers trimmed their roster from 75 players to 53 to meet the NFL deadline Saturday afternoon. In deciding which players to cut, Packers officials decided to keep both Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien as backups for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The official statement from the Packers organization lists the following player designations to reach the 53 man roster limit.
The Green Bay Packers have released 18 players and placed T Aaron Adams, LB Nate Palmer, TE Jake Stoneburner and DT Khyri Thornton on injured reserve. The transactions were announced Saturday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.
The Packers released S Chris Banjo, WR Kevin Dorsey, LB Jake Doughty, T John Fullington, C Garth Gerhart, WR Alex Gillett, DT Carlos Gray, RB Michael Hill, LB Adrian Hubbard, G Jordan McCray, S Tanner Miller, TE Justin Perillo, RB LaDarius Perkins, DE Luther Robinson, CB Jumal Rolle, T Jeremy Vujnovich, WR Myles White and CB Ryan White.
The Packers can also sign 10 players to their practice squad, up from 8 last season.
