OCONTO COUNTY – The Oconto Area Humane Society says it has enough money to stay open through the end of the year.
Earlier this month, shelter officials said they were running short of funds to keep the facility operating.
From January to May of this year, the shelter brought in more than $44,000 but the shelter spent more than $52,000 during that same time period.
A board member told FOX 11 Wednesday, the shelter has raised enough money and stay open through the end of the year. The board member also said the shelter has more fundraising events coming up to operate beyond that.
