Gov. Walker approves funding for the Mason Street Bridge in Green Bay

GREEN BAY – Governor Scott Walker approved $3.3 million to improve the Mason Street Bridge in Green Bay.

Construction will begin Wednesday, September 3rd and will end in April 2015.

The money will fund a new barrier gate system, updating existing lift bridge control, electrical system components and installing cameras to assist in life bridge operations.

Lunda Construction, Black River Falls in the prime contractor.

Lane closures are expected both during the day and overnight from September 3rd through November 17th. Sidewalks along the bridge will also be closed for a portion of the work. The bridge will also be closed to marine traffic during January and February 2015.
