GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers made seven roster reductions ahead of the Tuesday deadline to reduce the roster to 75 players. They released S Charles Clay, CB Antonio Dennard, WR Chris Harper, LB Korey Jones, FB Ina Liaina, QB Chase Rettig and WR Gerrard Sheppard.
The Packers also revealed that new starting center J.C. Tretter, who missed most of his rookie season with an ankle injury, has what coach Mike McCarthy termed a “significant” knee injury, and will miss multiple weeks. He will be replaced in the starting line-up by rookie Corey Linsley.
Defensive tackle B.J. Raji sustained a biceps injury in the Friday night contest against the Oakland Raiders and some media reports say he will require surgery and be out for the year. McCarthy would not confirm the surgery, but said Raji would not be a candidate for the in-season injured reserve.
