OSHKOSH – Federal money will help the Oshkosh Fire Dept. get some new equipment.
Firefighters say the department has received a grant of about $114,800 from FEMA. Officials plan to use the money to buy eight new thermal imaging cameras, replacing the department’s 15-year-old models, and 40 hose nozzles, replacing the department’s 20-year-old models.
Firefighters say the new equipment will help them put out fires faster.
FEMA is providing $103,320 of the grant and the city of Oshkosh is responsible for providing $11,480 of the funding.
