GREEN BAY – FOX 11 has obtained new details about an alleged heroin ring.
The man who Brown County prosecutors say was the main person supplying the drug is headed to trial.
Jafari Mahonie is one of at least 19 people accused of taking part in what prosecutors call the area’s largest heroin distribution ring.
Mahonie waived a court hearing in Brown County court Thursday morning.
The waiver was part of an agreement with the prosecution.
The deal included dismissing several charges. It also requires Mahonie to testify against anyone else in the case, if necessary.
Many details about this alleged conspiracy are unknown because a judge has sealed all of the case files.
Thursday, Mahonie’s attorney asked for his client’s file to be unsealed. A decision on that request was not immediately made.
Neither the prosecution nor the defense would comment on the case after court.
Mahonie remains behind bars on a $250 thousand cash bond.
He is back in court to enter a plea in October.
