MANITOWOC – Silver Lake College students will notice some changes when they arrive on campus in the fall.
The college is working on a pair of renovation projects at Main Hall totaling $500,000.
Renovations to the Dining Hall are nearly finished. Work includes creating a partial wall to help section off part of the room as well as new food stations throughout the hall’s central area. A new menu is coming, and the college also says it is doing away with trays to help save water that normally would be used for washing them.
Meanwhile, the bulk of demolition of the lobby inside the college’s main entrance on the north side of Main Hall is set for next week. Plans call for the addition of a Welcome Center, a Starbucks coffee shop and a spirit/gift shop. Renovations are expected to be finished by the end of September, with a second phase of the project 18 to 24 months away.
