SHEBOYGAN (AP) – A Sheboygan woman who argued her 22-year sentence for attempted homicide was much more severe than her co-defendants could be released from prison before the end of the year.

Renata Neuaone received a new sentence of 13 years in prison after a long hearing in Sheboygan County Circuit Court Monday.

Neuaone and four co-defendants, including her husband at the time, were accused of kidnapping a 20-year-old woman in 2001 over a drug debt. The woman was beaten, drugged, taken to a railroad trestle and hung from a clothesline. The victim survived the ordeal.

Neuaone pleaded guilty in a plea deal which offered 12 years in prison. Instead, Neuaone was sentenced to 22 years in prison. Sheboygan Press Media says the 34-year-old Neuaone will serve 18 years of supervision once she’s released.
