WAUPACA – A woman charged with neglecting horses was convicted of one of the 15 counts she originally faced.
Barbara Thiry was charged with 15 misdemeanor counts. Seven counts were dismissed by the judge during the trial this week – and she was convicted of one count of failing to provide food for an animal, according to online court records. A jury found her not guilty Friday of the other eight charges.
Thiry was placed on probation for one year, and was ordered not to possess any horses unless authorized by her probation agent.
After the probation term is up, the judge imposed a five-year injunction limiting her to no more than two horses.
