SHEBOYGAN – One person had to be hospitalized following a house fire in Sheboygan.
The fire broke out just after 8 p.m. Wednesday on Erie Avenue
When firefighters arrived, smoke and flames were seen coming from the second floor.
Fire crews say everyone was able to get out.
One person suffered smoke inhalation.
Firefighters say they tried to fight the fire on the second floor, but had to get out of the home because the heat was too intense and there was heavy smoke.
Eventually, crews were able to use a ladder truck to help them extinguish the fire.
The Red Cross is helping the seven residents displaced by the fire.
Fire officials say the blaze caused about $58,000 in damage.
The cause is still under investigation.
