MADISON (AP) – Unemployment is up in all of Wisconsin’s largest cities and most counties.
The state Department of Workforce Development reported Wednesday that unemployment rates in June increased in all of the state’s 32 largest cities. Unemployment rates went up in 61 of 72 counties and remained unchanged in the other 11.
Wisconsin’s monthly unemployment rate in June was 5.7 percent, unchanged from May.
Racine once again had the highest unemployment rate of any city at 10.4 percent, followed by Beloit at 9.5 percent.
Menominee County had the highest rate for any county at 17.8 percent, followed by Iron County at 11.2 percent.
Dane County had the lowest at 4.2 percent.
