BELLEVUE – Used baseball equipment donations were collected Saturday at the Brown County Sheriff’s Department in Bellevue.
The bats, balls, gloves and other equipment will be delivered to children in Africa.
The collection is part of the “Angels at Bat” charity started by Preble High School freshman Max Bobholz.
“From watching the Little League World Series a couple of years ago when Uganda was the first team to play that was from Africa, I decided that it would be a good idea to just take some of the stuff that we have in our garages and bring it out to them,” explained Bobholz.
Bobholz, his mother and about ten members of the area Rotary Club will deliver the equipment next month.
