Flaky Biscuits

Ingredients:

2 cups flour, chilled

1 tbsp baking powder, chilled

1/2 tsp baking soda, chilled

1 tsp salt, chilled

6oz unsalted butter, cut into pieces and chilled

3/4 cup buttermilk, chilled

1 egg, chilled

egg wash (1 egg and 1 tbsp water, whisked together)

Directions:

Put flour, baking powder/soda, salt and butter into a food processor. Pulse a few times until butter in broken up into pea size pieces. Transfer to a large bowl. In a separate bowl whisk together buttermilk with one egg. Pour wet ingredients into dry. Fold together until just combined. Drop 2 tbsp of batter on to parchment line baking sheet. Brush the tops with egg wash. Place pan into a 425 degree oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with whipped butter.
