Thousands of people are bumping, setting and spiking their way through the world’s largest outdoor volleyball tournament this weekend.
The Waupaca Boatride Volleyball Tournament kicked off Friday.
Organizers say they are seeing record participation this year with players ranging from former Olympians, professionals and those who just want to have fun.
They say as much as it is a competition, it’s also a family reunion.
“Friends that maybe have played on a team in college, or played back in the day, and they’ve all moved to separate parts of the country. And now someone comes up from Dallas, someone will come from New Jersey, and someone comes from Nebraska and they’ll come and they’ll relive their youth and hopefully try to get a title here,” said organizer Tom Galecke.
The tournament continues tomorrow with the juniors competition.
