TOWN OF DUNKIRK, Wis. (AP) – Police have arrested a Stoughton man suspected of supplying the heroin that caused a fatal overdose in Dane County.
Sheriff’s deputies and emergency medical workers were called late Friday to the Town of Dunkirk after a 25-year-old man was found unconscious inside his home. The man was taken to a hospital, but despite lifesaving efforts, including the emergency heroin antidote Narcan, he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say they found evidence of heroin use in the home and arrested the 26-year-old suspect Monday. He’s in jail on a probation hold. Investigators are waiting for the medical examiner’s report and toxicology results to determine additional charges.
