Fox Valley Bat Detectives monitoring population for third summer

MENASHA – The Fox Valley Bat Detectives are back for a third summer doing their part to help protect the bat population.

Volunteers with the group head out four nights a week for about an hour, collecting acoustic monitoring data of threatened bat populations.

The group rotates between five area sites: Heckrodt Wetland Reserve, High Cliff State Park, Wild Ones’ WILD Center, 1000 Islands Environmental Center, and Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve.

FOX 11′s Pauleen Le spent the morning learning more about the group and the bat population.
