ASHWAUBENON – You’ll have the chance to help save a life Thursday.
The Red Cross is holding its 28th annual Super Donor Day Blood Drive at Shopko Hall in Ashwaubenon.
You can donate between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. by appointment or walk-in.
You’ll need an ID like a blood donor card or driver license.
Officials are hoping to collect 400 pints of blood.
“As we head into the holiday weekend and we know that usage tends to go up, summer donations tend to drop as it is. People have very busy schedules as it is and we need people coming in and so we have these big events right before the holiday to make sure those shelves are stocked for those patients in need,” said Michelle Otero with the American Red Cross.
Donors of all blood types are needed, but with only about 15 percent of the population having a negative blood type and typically able to receive only a negative blood donation, officials are especially looking for O negative, B negative and A negative.
