Portion of Shawano Avenue closing for 60 days

HOWARD – A portion of Shawano Avenue in the Green Bay area will be closed for two months.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Shawano Avenue from Taylor Street to Packerland Drive is closing starting Monday, July 7.

All US 41 ramps at Shawano Avenue will also close Monday expect for the northbound US 41 exit ramp to eastbound Shawano Avenue. That ramp will close Monday, July 21 for a maximum of 21 days.

Drivers on WIS 29 will be detoured as follows:

  • Westbound WIS 29 will be detoured at Military Ave., take Military south to Mason St. and Mason west to US 41 northbound and follow US 41 northbound to the new WIS 29 westbound flyover ramp.
  • Eastbound WIS 29 will be detoured south on US 41 to WIS 172, take WIS 172 eastbound to I-43 southbound to the WIS 29 exit.

The closure is needed for the reconstruction of the Shawano Avenue interchange, including the construction of three roundabouts.
