GREEN BAY – The Green Bay East High School band had a send-off parade in preparation for its trip to Washington, D.C.
Monday was the band’s last marching practice before the trip.
The band is marching in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington on the Fourth of July.
Despite the wet weather, people near the school still watched the band practice.
The band’s director, Karen Iken said the turnout was a little unexpected.
“I was surprised and I wasn’t surprised because we have very good support in our neighborhood,” said Iken.
The band officially leaves Tuesday night at 9:00.
