OSHKOSH – Three people were hurt after they were hit by a pickup truck near the Country USA grounds Tuesday.

A 17-year-old Oshkosh boy was driving the pickup truck south on Washburn Ave. just after 10 p.m. when he hit three people walking along the road, the State Patrol says.

A 23-year-old Wautoma man was airlifted to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah with life-threatening injuries. He has since been flown to a Madison hospital, according to a spokesperson for Theda Clark. The other two, a 20-year-old Eureka woman, and a 22-year-old Neshkoro man, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.

Police said Tuesday night the wet conditions on the festival grounds may have played a role. No one involved had been drinking, the State Patrol said.

The crash is still under investigation. The victims’ names have not been released.
