What is the summer solstice?

The summer solstice is all about the sun.

Summer starts at 5:51 a.m. on Saturday. That’s the time when the direct rays of the sun move the farthest north to 23.5 degrees, the Tropic of Cancer. The solstice is also the time of the longest amount of daylight hours.

Watch the video above for more on the beginning of summer, and how much daylight we can get.
