Lagunitas Mussels


1/2 lb Mussels
1/2 cup of Lagunitas IPA
1/8 cup fennel, diced
1 tsp garlic, minced
1/4 cup tomato juice
1 Tbsp basil, sliced thin
Salt and pepper to taste
1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil

1 Ciabatta bread sliced and grilled


In a hot pan add oil, mussels, fennel and garlic. Sauté till you can smell the garlic and Fennel then add beer and salt and pepper. Continue to sauté till beer is about half gone then add tomato juice. Cover and let simmer till all the Mussels are open.  Finish the last few seconds with fresh basil. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with grilled bread.
