GREEN BAY – The Brown County Public Library is taking a new approach to hands on learning.
Now children can learn about fruits and vegetables, and eat them too.
A new edible garden was unveiled at the Central Library Friday.
Officials say it’s important for children to have regular contact with nature because it improves learning.
The director says each part of the garden has a story to tell.
“Some of these are temporary pots, but we want to make sure that what we get in here is pertinent to the story of our community and fruits and vegetable that people can eat,” said Lynn Stainbrook, Brown County library director.
The new garden was made possible through donations from businesses, schools, and individuals.
