WAUPUN – An inmate death at the Waupun State Prison in the 1960s is being investigated.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a possible suspicious death of an inmate. However, the department doesn’t even know the victim’s name.

“The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is cooperating with our investigation and is providing all of the necessary documentation dating back to the 1960s so that the lead detective can fully investigate this complaint. We are taking this complaint seriously until it is proven elsewise,” said Sheriff Patricia Ninmann in a release.

Investigators are currently reviewing the documentation as the investigation continues.
