How area counties are handling same-sex marriage requests

Here’s a rundown of how Northeast Wisconsin counties are handling same-sex marriage license requests:

Brown: The county clerk’s office is issuing marriage licenses and several couples have gotten married.

Calumet: The county is now issuing same-sex marriage licenses.

Door: Issuing licenses, but the five-day waiting period will be enforced.

Florence: The county is issuing licenses. Enforcing waiting period.

Fond du Lac: The county is issuing licenses. Enforcing waiting period.

Green Lake: The county is not issuing them at this time. Waiting for Friday’s court hearing.

Kewaunee: The county clerk is issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Manitowoc: The county is issuing licenses. Waiving five day, if asked.

Marinette: The county is issuing licenses

Oconto: The county is issuing licenses.

Outagamie: The county is issuing licenses.

Shawano: The county clerk is accepting applications for licenses.

Waupaca: The county clerk will begin issuing licenses at 8 a.m. Thursday and is enforcing the five-day waiting period.

Winnebago: The county clerk is issuing licenses to same-sex couples.
