STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) – A Plover man is charged with attacking his sleeping stepfather with a baseball bat and killing him.
Thirty-two-year-old Andrew Pray is charged with one count of first-degree intentional homicide in the May 26 attack on 77-year-old Christopher Bonnstetter. Bonnstetter died Tuesday from his injuries.
According to the complaint, Pray’s mother, Jennifer Pray, told investigators she witnessed the afternoon attack and saw her son hit Bonnstetter three or four times.
WAOW-TV reports court records say Bonnstetter was sleeping on the floor of his living room when Andrew Pray came in, said nothing and began hitting him with an aluminum baseball bat.
Andrew Pray is being held in the Portage County Jail on $250,000 bond. He’s scheduled to appear in court Monday. Online court records do not list a defense attorney.
