MILWAUKEE (AP) – A second suspect has been charged in connection with the shooting of a 10-year-old girl at a Milwaukee playground.
Twenty-eight-year-old Jamey Lamont Jackson was charged Monday with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Jackson was arrested last week. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that according to the complaint, a 16-year-old witness identified Jackson as one of two men she saw running, with handguns, after the shooting.
Another man, 18-year-old Sylvester Lewis, was earlier charged with first-degree reckless injury and two other felonies in the May 21 shooting that left Sierra Guyton hospitalized.
The child was playing with her 12-year-old sister when she was shot in the head.
Online court records do not list a defense attorney for Jackson. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday.
