UW-Whitewater baseball completes 3-sport sweep

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater made NCAA history Tuesday, becoming the first school to win the football, men’s basketball and baseball national championships in a single academic year.

The Warhawks defeated Emory 7-0 in the NCAA Division III baseball championship at Fox Cities Stadium, as no NCAA school in any division, a span of 67 years, had ever accomplished the feat.

Whitewater pitcher Scott Plaza was named the series MVP as he scattered seven hits. Plaza won two games in the series.
