Cazzola claims three titles, UWO finishes second nationally

DELEWARE, Ohio – The UW-Oshkosh women’s track and field team came up just short of claiming a tenth division III outdoor track and field title Saturday. The Titans finished just two points behind Wartburg. Wartburg completed a three-peat as outdoor champions. The Knights were trailing the Titans going into the final event of the meet the 4×400 relay. A second place finish in the event by the Wartburg nudged them ahead of UW-Oshkosh.

Christy Cazzola capped off her outstanding collegiate career for UWO with three individual national titles. Cazzola won the 1,500, 800, and 5,000 meter runs. She finishes her career with 17 national titles. Jecel Klotz was the other individual national champion for UW-Oshkosh claiming the shot put title.

McKena Ramos was the lone individual title winner for the Titans on the men’s side. Ramos won the 1,500 meter run while the Titans finished fourth overall.
