DE PERE — De Pere shooting guard Brevin Pritzl has given a verbal commitment to play his college basketball for Bo Ryan and the Wisconsin Badgers, according to Redbirds coach

Pritzl visited with Wisconsin on May 11 and Marquette (May 15), which also offered.

Pritzl, who is a terrific perimeter shooter, has enjoyed a great start to the AAU season, scoring 41 and 37 points, respectively, in a recent tournament.

After offered by Wisconsin, Pritzl said, “Definitely a big offer. They made it to the Final Four which is really something special and they have Frank and Sam coming back next year which is really going to catapult them further. It’s really cool getting an offer form a Big Ten school.”

Pritzl, 6 feet 3, averaged 20.9 points per game last season and also received offers from UW-Green Bay, Milwaukee, Northern Illinois, Toledo, Drake, South Dakota State, North Dakota State, Lehigh, Xavier, Bucknell, Davidson and Creighton.

Pritzl is the first commit for the Badgers’ 2015 class.
