The Wisconsin State Patrol is keeping an eye on drivers from the air in Fond du Lac County.

Monday afternoon, airplanes were looking for speeders and reckless drivers on Hwy. 26 north of 151. The aerial patrols were relaying information to troopers in their cars.

The State Patrol says more than 30 vehicles were stopped in the 55 mph zone. The average speed was 73 mph, which is 18 mph over the limit.

In addition to speeding, the State Patrol says the majority of vehicles stopped were passing and cutting in front of semitrucks.

Another aerial detail and several ground-based patrols will be conducted this summer.
