GREEN BAY-Two universities in Northeast Wisconsin held commencement ceremonies Saturday. Nine-hundred graduated from University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, while more than 1,300 graduated from UW-Oshkosh.
For UW-Green Bay it was the first year students who took part in the school’s Phuture Phoenix program as fifth graders could graduate. The Phuture Phoenix program brings fifth grade students on campus to get them interested in higher education at an early age.
For UW-Oshkosh it was the 140th spring commencement ceremony. The school also handed out diplomas to master’s degree candidates. The ceremony was the last for retiring chancellor Richard Wells.
