Concordia-Chicago ends baseball season for St. Norbert

WHITEWATER, Wis. – St. Norbert College saw its season end with a 5-1 loss to Concordia University Chicago in an elimination game in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional at UW-Whitewater’s Prucha Field at Miller Stadium.

Concordia, the fourth ranked team in the D3baseball.com poll, jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second. The Cougars added single runs in the fourth and sixth innings.

St. Norbert was able to put a run on the board in the seventh as Chad Ljunggren’s legged out an infield single to score the Green Knights’ first and only run.

Trailing 5-1 in the 9th, St. Norbert did make things interesting, advancing a pair of runners into scoring position, only to see the game end on a flyout to centerfield.

The Green Knights finished the season 24-16.
