GREEN BAY – Associated Bank in Green Bay is making an investment in Habitat for Humanity.
The bank gave more than $1 million to the group to build homes around the community.
Associated bank will own the homes. The families that move in will make interest free mortgage payments to the bank.
Ten homes will be built this year.
Those involved say they are making a difference in the community.
“Associated’s generosity is an example of the giving and caring community we live in. We’re making a difference in people’s lives,” said Jeff Johnson, Habitat for Humanity executive director. “One of the homeowners actually shed tears of joy when she realized this transaction would help more families like hers.”
This is the largest first-time purchase of Habitat for Humanity mortgages in Associated’s history.
